Requirements

 

🧾 Core Qualifications & Checks

• NDIS Worker Screening Check

Mandatory for anyone providing NDIS-funded services. Assesses risk to people with disability and must be renewed every 5 years.

• Working With Children Check

Required if working with clients under 18. Separate from the NDIS check.

• National Police Check

Some employers may request this in addition to the NDIS screening.

• Right to Work in Australia

Proof of citizenship, residency, or visa status is essential.

• Formal Training (Recommended)

While not always mandatory, qualifications like Certificate III or IV in Disability or Individual Support improve employability.

🚗 Vehicle & Driving Requirements

• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence

Most roles require a current licence due to travel between clients and transporting participants.

• Reliable, Roadworthy Vehicle

Your car should be suitable for frequent use and meet safety standards:

• Working air conditioning and heating

• Clean, safe seating with seatbelts

• Booster seats if transporting children

• Insurance Requirements

• At least third-party property insurance

Must cover work-related use.

• Comprehensive insurance preferred
